From Phyllida's Desk

Author's Note not included in e-book Phyllida

May 11, 2013

Yes, it only took me FIVE YEARS to discover that the Author's Note, (called "The Story behind Phyllida and the Brotherhood of Philander") that appeared at the back of the print edition, was not included in the e-book, both published in the spring of 2008!

HarperCollins will be releasing a complete e-book soon. But for those of you who bought the e-book already, I have posted the essay as a (long) blog post here on this website's blog and also on my LiveJournal blog.

This was one of my better efforts at nonfiction, and I'd like to think that some readers unfamiliar with the genre of Regency romance from which Phyllida evolved found it helpful, even enjoyable.

At any rate, this was a valuable lesson on the importance of proofreading everything to do with one's writing and publishing immediately and obsessively.

Many thanks for reading,

Ann Herendeen
